Our dream vacation to Bandung city of Indonesia.

Those mind-boggling pictures of white sandy beaches arching the glinting sea, the lush green paddy fields and abundance of nature, aren’t these enough to allure one to dream of a vacation on one of the thousands of gorgeous islands of Indonesia.

Bandung endeared as Paris of Java is one of the amazing tourist destinations Indonesia has to offer to anyone who looks for laid-back vacations. We have been planning a trip to Indonesia for quite some time now and Bandung definitely makes to the top of the Itinerary. So here is what we would fantasize about a vacation in Paris Van Java aka Bandung.

It is evident that when looking for a relaxed vacation with family the most crucial would be the stay option. Sheraton Bandung hotel nestled amidst the abundance of nature looks pretty promising with a myriad of activities for kids for a fun filled and memorable trip.

Bandung Indonesia

Dusun Bambu

Dusun Bambu located at the foothill of Mount Burangrang in a large natural landscape is popular with family travelers. The great choice of restaurants and outdoor play area for kids in Dusun Bambu would make for an amazing family outing.

Bandung Indonesia

We found the lunching options in a recreated bird cage and the Purbasari restaurant along the calm lake very fascinating. The resort also offers various activities for kids like cycling and other educational activities.

Bandung Indonesia

Lembang Floating Market

The Floating market of Lembang where one can enjoy the delicious foods on the boat in the midst of the magnificent lake has an enticing charm which we would definitely not want to miss. And apart from food the market also hosts several activities like feeding the fish, geese, and rabbits, Riding boats, water bikes, strawberry picking and much more.

Farm House of Susu Lembang

The most popular being the free milk offered to visitors the Farmhouse of Susu Lembang with lush green gardens, vibrant flowers beds, and petting farms for kids sounds like a great place to spend some quality family time. Apart from the famous hobbit house the farmhouse also has several European style architecture buildings reminiscent of Swiss chalets which we would love to visit and relish our trips to Switzerland.

Bandung Indonesia

Trans Studio

The indoor theme park with a variety of shows and rides sounds interesting. Studio Center for Hollywood fans where one can meet their favorite Hollywood stars, the adventures of exploring the Lost City and especially the magic corner with special effects, mysteries including a play area for kids would be an amazing experience.

Back at the hotel, we would immerse ourselves in the pools for some relaxing time and we are sure our little angel would have lots of fun with all the lovely floats. After exploring so many prominent attractions we would definitely snuggle up into our beds exhausted.

Spending next morning at a Clubroom dedicated for kids and toddlers with an ice cream corner sounds like a great idea. The clubroom activities starting at 9 am are complimentary for the families during their stay.

The Sunday mornings would be special for kids with the kids special Sunday brunch with tasty treats of ice cream, pudding, chocolates and much more. The Sunday Brunch are available starting from 12 pm until 3 pm with free access to swimming pool & free kids activities.

Exploring Indonesian culture

We would also love to explore the Indonesian culture with a traditional musical performance at Saung Angklung udjo which also includes a puppet show, mask dance and the beautiful Angklung performance.

Bandung Indonesia

Art deco Architecture and Shopping

A visit to Bandung is incomplete without exploring the richest collection of art deco architecture of Bandung and feed our shopping spree in the famous Paris Van Java shopping mall.

Most of the locations mentioned in this post have entrance fees so if you are planning a trip do make sure to check out their respective websites for more details.

The hotel we stay at is of utmost importance to me as well. If I can splurge on one thing, it’s accommodations! And Sheraton Bandung looks lovely. And it’s so interesting to find a hobbit house in the middle of Indonesia!

This all sounds great but I would have appreciated it more if you could have told us about your experiences. This sounds like a plan but without any experience. Just as a suggestion. I would love to explore this place.

I would love to visit Indonesia sometimes soon and it looks like Bandung could be the perfect place to start with. That bird cage restaurant sounds very interesting, what kind of cuisine do they approach? Also, I would be interested in seeing a cultural performance. I have a friend who learned traditional Indonesian dances while she was studying there and she told me a lot about their culture.
