Who are we?

We are Rashmi and Chalukya a couple from Mumbai traveling as a family with our 3-year-old daughter Chhavi. We share our travel experiences, tips, and stories through our blog GOBeyondBounds. We aren’t the typical backpackers or the adventure junkies we just love to explore anything that fascinates us. We have a full-time work to tend and Chhavi has school to attend so travel happens during the vacations, weekends and holidays.

About Us 'GOBeyondBounds'

Our First Trip together

Our first trip together might sound like a clip out of a Bollywood movie. We both pursued our degree from the same college with a few common friends but our paths never crossed. We both got through the same company for a job and traveled to Kerala for 2 months training. In Kerala, my (Rashmi) friends planned a trip to the southernmost tip of India ‘Kanyakumari’ which I fortunately or unfortunately missed it. When Chalukya’s classmates planned the same trip I was keen to go but knew none of the guys. One of my classmates a common friend to both of us offered to join me and that’s how I set on the journey. We got introduced to each other on the trip to return as friends forever. This trip turned out to be our first trip together and since then we have been exploring the world together.

How did it all start?

It all started as a respite from the hectic and monotonous 9 to 6 jobs. we started exploring places in and around Mumbai to escape the hustle-bustle of the city. Mumbai monsoon turned out to be a boon for us trekking enthusiasts and the nature lovers. Hiking through the lush green forests, the gushing streams and the picturesque Sahyadri rejuvenated our spirits and refreshed our soul. And traveling became an indispensable part of our life.

About Us 'GOBeyondBounds'

Traveling with a 6-month-old and exploring 15 countries in a year

Traveling with a 6-month-old baby and achieving the milestone of 15 countries in one year was definitely a challenge. An opportunity to travel to Switzerland for work was a dream come true. But traveling with a 6-month-old who would be having her first winter in the snow filled us with dread. With a little patience and lots of pre-planning we made it happen and traveled through 15 countries in 2015 alone. We have been featured in several major online publications:

Traveling and exploring is important, it does not matter if its an international destination. You will always find more wonderful things to explore around you and it is convenient too. 😉
