Santorini is one of the gorgeous Greek islands with its whitewashed towns perched on the cliffside overlooking the perpetual blue seas. Yes, there are ample of Santorini accommodations wchechich offer wonderful panoramic vistas of caldera and sunset and are considered the best place to stay on Santorini island.
Our trip to Santorini was a last moment plan and a quick getaway from Athens and we had difficulty looking for best place to stay in Santorini with a view moreover we were traveling with a baby so the reviews of the Santorini hotels were very crucial for us. We finally settled down for a studio Ecoxenia Studios (Check Availability and Prices for Ecoxenia Studios) a km from Oia center which though did not have views over caldera but still had a wonderful sunset over the sea. The rooms are spacious with a kitchenette. The property has a garden, Jacuzzi, and a restaurant.
So if you are planning to visit Santorini and wondering where to stay in Santorini here we have a list of Santorini hotels straight from the travel bloggers sharing their experience for you to choose from on your Santorini holidays.
Hotels in Oia Santorini
Santo Maris, Oia ($$$)
Oia is known as the best place in all of Santorini to watch the famed Cyclades sunset. While rooms in Oia are highly coveted, many hotels lack the intimacy and privacy that one covets on a holiday. Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa has the perfect combination of spectacular sunsets, serene surroundings, and placid privacy.
Recommended by Collette & Scott Stohler of Roamaroo.
Just a 5-minute walk from downtown Oia, Santo Maris is close enough to the action while still possessing an intimate sanctuary setting for its guests. The suites at Santo Maris each come with their own plunge pool and picturesque sunset sea view. In addition to the 5-star suites, Santo Maris boasts four infinity pools, top-notch dining, and an award-winning spa.
Oia Collection Villas, Oia ($)
We were determined to catch an iconic sunset during our trip to Santorini and opted to stay in Oia, a village perched on the edge of the Caldera and set against the backdrop of the colorful Oia cliffside, which is famous for its sunset views. Santorini has been on our travel bucket list forever and we decided to celebrate finally making it to the Greek Island with a stay in one of the cave hotels which are an island specialty.
Recommended by Elaine & David, read more on Santorini guide on their blog.
We stayed in a fantastic cave villa, part of the Oia Collection, where our accommodation was built into the Santorini cliff side. We loved lounging on our private terrace overlooking the Caldera, relaxing in our outdoor tub and sleeping below the cave walls. It’s the perfect spot to chill out and the location, a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Oia, was perfect. Our cave villa was most definitely our little slice of Santorini heaven!
Caldera Villas, Oia ($)
Caldera villas located in the heart of Oia is a spacious hotel with a breathtaking view of the caldera. The rooms were huge and included a spacious living area. This is perfect for families or a group. It is a bit of journey to get to the villa. So make sure you make the appropriate contact with the hotel, they provide assistance getting your bags to the hotel.
Recommended by Christina Tong of Backpack and a Fork.
Keep in mind the villa is located on a side of a mountain, people that need assistance are advised not to stay here in my opinion. Oh, I forgot! They also have a complimentary breakfast in the morning to take in the view.
Strogili Traditional Houses, Oia ($$)
My priority for Santorini was a caldera-view hotel and an affordable rate. I was thrilled when I discovered Strogili Traditional Houses as it met every expectation and more — a beautiful pool, homemade breakfast served on the patio, and a caring staff. When we arrived at 6:30 in the morning, they gave us a room in which to rest until our own room was ready.

The silence was what I was least prepared for and what has lingered most favorably in my mind. As you stand on the patio in front of your room and look out over the caldera, the only thing you will hear is a light breeze caressing the cliffs. It is magical!
Marizan Caves & Villas, Oia ($$)
You’ll find the Marizan Caves & Villas at the northern-most tip of the scenic village of Oia. These villas provide spectacular views of the dazzling blue Aegean sea, and the surrounding caldera. They are also a prime location for enjoying Oia’s legendary sunsets. The highlight of our stay at Marizan was finishing the day on our patio with a glass of wine in hand, watching the sky slowly turn orange. It was wonderful to enjoy a romantic sunset in private. Mornings were a delight too with freshly baked bread, cheese and ham delivered right to our door, and accompanied by the best views of the island. Quite a start to the day!
Recommended by Cindy Collins, read their post on why Santorini is a Photographer’s Paradise.
All of this was topped off by our incredibly caring and welcoming hosts, who made sure that every part of our stay was perfect. They really made our time in Santorini all that more special. We loved Marizan Caves and we can’t wait to return one day.
Esperas Hotel, Oia ($$)
On my last visit to Santorini, I stayed in Esperas, a luxurious hotel located in the village of Oia famous for the magnificent sunsets. The hotel is at the end of the village carved into the volcanic cliff overlooking the volcano and Ammoudi Bay. There are three types of accommodation available; studios, cave houses, and suites all built in the traditional Santorini style. The rooms are equipped with all the modern amenities and some also enjoy outdoor Jacuzzis. From your private terrace, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the caldera.
Recommended by Chrisoula Manika of Travel Passionate.
There is also a restaurant on site that serves Mediterranean cuisine, a cave pool, and many sun loungers. The highlight of the hotel is its position that lets you enjoy one of the best sunsets from the privacy of your terrace.
Hotels in Fira Santorini
ZuziM Villa, Fira ($$$)
Santorini offers many accommodations within the stunning caldera view.
But in case you are looking for something with a bit more privacy but still very central, ZuziM Villa in Vourvoulos could be just the right place for you. Only a mile away from the capital Fira, this traditional build cave house comes with a stunning terrace and a heated outdoor Jacuzzi with sea view. It is the perfect location for a romantic getaway.
Recommended by Mia Fox
While you can enjoy some relaxing time, away from all the tourist troubles, you will also be able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise, just before your host will arrive to pamper you with an excellent outdoor breakfast. There is not much not to love about this place, except that you will need a car or use a taxi to get around the island or do your shopping.
Pantelia Suites, Fira ($)
We stayed in Pantelia Suites in Santorini, a combination of luxury and authentic Greek holiday home. Pantelia Suites is traditional Greek House which is about 200 years old and renovated now to luxury stay for tourists.
Location:- These suites are located in the capital of Santorini island named Fira. It is very close to Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the island and on famous Caldera walks at the center of Fira.
View:- As Pantelia Suites is located on the side of Kaldera cliff this hotel has a beautiful volcano view and the famous Santorini sunset with Blue waters of Aegean Sea.
Recommended by Yukti Agarwal, Read the full view of Pantelia suites on her blog.
Rooms:- There are total 6 luxury suites in the premises laid over 3 levels in a zigzag manner like a traditional Greek house. All suites have private balcony/terrace with sea views. It is painted in traditional blue and white colors yo maintain its authenticity. There are 3 terrace sit-outs in Pantelia suites offering different beautiful views like layers of a wedding cake. Every layer has a different flavor.
Pantelia Suites is a perfect place to stay In Santorini for feeling and getting absorbed like an actual Greek. Views from this hotel are incredible. I would love to go again and again and stay in the same place.
Villa Firostefani 7-minute walk to Fira ($)
I don’t usually promote accommodations when I write about a destination, but this hotel, Villa Firostefani, that my partner and I stayed in Santorini exceeded our expectations greatly.
Here are some services they provide, at only 20€ a night in Santorini:
– Free pick up from the port
– Free breakfast daily
Recommended by Isabel Leong, read more about Santorini travel on her blog.
Granted, the rooms are basic and so is the homemade breakfast, but it is more than you can ask for only 20€ per night. Even though it does not have an infinity pool nor does it sit on in the middle of white terraces, Villa Firostefani is only a 7-minute walk to Fira, the main town, with picturesque views of Firostefani and Fira. While not on the picturesque side of Fira, you can still admire the sunrise views from the sea from your hotel room.
They are a family-run business so their service was very warm and hospitable.
Hotels in Imerovigli Santorini
Astra Suites, Imerovigli ($$)
Dramatic views, a friendly service, and a room to die for in Astra Suites in Imerovigli
I truly love Astra Suites as it has its own character. It is not stereotypical Cycladic style, so each unit can be taken as an original unique colorful piece of art. High ceilings, arty ornaments plus the giant his ’n’ her shower. Probably the most what I love about this place is proactive friendly staff. Before I realized my bags were lugged in from the car, and also the room service was decent and fast. My check-in was flawless, and I was welcomed with wine and a fruit platter on the house upon arrival. I cannot miss mentioning the breakfast that is brought to my terrace every morning. The location of the hotel, Imerovigli, is great, midway between Oia and Thira. It was the perfect spot to privately enjoy Santorini’s famous golden sunset. The last day of my stay I spent relaxing by caldera edge pool and in the small spa with hammam and sauna.

Andromeda Villas & Spa Resort, Imerovigli ($)
Andromeda Villas & Spa Resort is an affordable luxury hotel, located 300 meters above sea level, hanging over the Caldera rim. I have visited Santorini 3 times and every time I stayed at the Andromeda Villas & Spa Resort. The service has been consistently excellent, the rooms are super cute in traditional Greek style with views over the ocean. My personal highlights are the three infinity pools and huge sunbeds, the perfect place to chill.
Recommended by Wiebke of Miss Abroad
I also love the location! The hotel is situated in scenic Imerovigli, the highest, most central part of Santorini’s caldera. The village is called “Balcony of the Aegean” for a reason: Imerovigli has one of the best sunsets, views of the volcano and is far away from the crowds. Yet, the capital of the island, Fira, is only a 30 minutes scenic walk away.
Pegasus Suites & Spa, Imerovigli ($$)
Pegasus Suites & Spa clings to the hillside overlooking Santorini’s caldera. Located in Imerovigli, the hotel is in a section of the village where roads are too narrow for cars, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the private jacuzzis and pools that many of the suites have. Depending on the time of year, guests can enjoy Santorini’s famous sunsets right from their balconies or the hotel’s fabulous restaurant that specializes in candlelit dinners.
Recommended by Laura and Lance Longwell, read more on their Greece travels.
In addition to the huge suites and unparalleled view, we loved that the hotel organizes private excursions. Rather than pile onto a crowded public tour, we enjoyed a six-hour cruise of the caldera with fewer than 15 other hotel guests—true luxury in Santorini.
Above Blue Suites, Imerovigli ($$)
For a central island stay with stunning views, Above Blue Suites in the Imerovigli area of Santorini is a perfect choice! Above Blue Suites is located high on the cliff, therefore, it offers stunning views! For us, the highlight was the many outdoor spaces to take in the famed Caldera view. We loved starting our day with breakfast delivered to our suite as we took in the vibrant blue views of the Caldera. Equally amazing was the opportunity to enjoy the stunning sunset from our private suite with a bottle of bubbly!
Recommended by Brian & Amanda, read more on lodging in Santorini on their blog.
There is a gorgeous pool for guests to cool off during the day. One of our favorite features is that Above Blue Suites turns the pool area into an outdoor restaurant in the evenings to have a romantic meal as the sun goes down. There are limited tables each evening and while people that aren’t guests of the property can make a reservation, hotel guests receive priority seating. Overall, Above View Suites delivers high-quality rooms with several areas to enjoy the picturesque Caldera landscapes.
Grace Hotel, Imerovigli ($$$)
If you’ve seen pictures of Santorini, no doubt you’ve seen a photo of the Grace hotel Santorini among them! The infinity pool is an iconic sight on the island, blending into the blue waters of the caldera and reflecting the warm tones of the Cycladic sunset.
Grace Santorini is a boutique hotel that absolutely epitomizes luxury travel, one of many reasons why we chose to celebrate our honeymoon there. The stylish rooms are beautifully decorated, while in keeping with the Greek Island feel. And many of the spacious suites come with their own private plunge pool to soak in after a day out exploring the island. No matter which room you choose, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking caldera view.
Recommended by Nadine of Le Long Weekend
But our favorite feature was the champagne breakfast! Served al fresco, the food was fabulous and the service impeccable.
Hotels in Perissa Santorini
Hotel Zorzis, Perissa
Just five minutes walk to the black sands of Perissa Beach, Hotel Zorzis is the perfect hotel if you want to be able to enjoy Santorini, but stay away from the crowds. Perissa is a beach town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars. Meanwhile, owners Captain Spiros and his wife Hiroko welcome guests to their adult-only elegant accommodation, with interiors reminiscent of the blue and white buildings so famous in Oia, some 30 minutes away. We enjoyed the relaxing ambiance of the pool and its mountain backdrop, as well as hearing Captain Spiros’ tales of his seafaring days – be warned, though, he will bring out the ouzo and happily chat to you until all hours of the morning!

Anny Studios, Perissa ($)
After staying at Anny Studios four years running I am about to take my fifth trip there! The breakfast options are great and the BEST frappe in Greece! Anny’s is perfectly located on Perissa beach – turn right out the door and within 30 seconds you’re on the beach. Ranging from dorm rooms to self-contained studios everyone at Anny’s has access to the in-house pool and bar which is tended by some of the friendliest people you can meet! Situated just a few minutes’ walk from the bus stops you can be in Fira or Oia in a snap. If busses aren’t your style you can head out on a scooter, bike, or car from any of the rental companies in walking distance. With enough great restaurants to eat at a different place every night for weeks Perissa beach and Anny Studios is the perfect Santorini experience – without the crowds.

Hotels in Kamari Santorini
Cavo Bianco Santorini, Kamari ($)
They say Santorini is one of the most romantic islands in the world and Cavo Bianco Santorini makes sure to remind you of that. The hotel is set on the Kamari/Perissa side of the island by the Black Beach. The beach is composed of black volcanic sand pebbles and is at the foot of a mountain that features an archeological site. Besides the fact that the location is perfect and adjacent to the picturesque infamous Black Beach, you are also surrounded by your choice of great restaurants on the Kamari promenade that overlook the sea. Cavo Bianco is a boutique hotel with a modern Santorini design and even though it’s fairly small I loved that it still offers 2 pools, a poolside bar, multiple jacuzzis, outdoor dining, & spa options. In regards to dining, you’re surrounded by amazing restaurants on the streets of Kamari. However, the complimentary breakfast buffet at Cavo Bianco was the best breakfast I had in Santorini, but more than that, the fact that the hotel isn’t run with tons of guests makes you feel a bit like you’re eating your breakfast in seclusion with your vacation partner(s).
The suites feature private jacuzzis inside or outside your bedroom. Personally, the suites with the jacuzzi outside the room are the way to go. The chlorine aroma inside of your room is not ideal and I experienced it first hand. The suites are chic and stylish and open up to a terrace where you can read a book, sit in the jacuzzi, or admire the magical Santorini scenery.
Cavo Bianco Santorini was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, everything about this boutique hotel exudes relaxation and the setting and atmosphere are extremely #Instagram worthy!
